So January started out crazy with work for both of us. The first full week of January had us both working long hours, then that Thursday I drove down to San Jose to attend a work meeting on Friday, drove back home Froday afternoon so that Mark and I could attend our first birthing class that evening, and then on Saturday, we drove back down to San Jose with my parents to get together with Aunt Heidi & Uncle Don for a late Christmas. It was exhausting, but we had a blast (and Mark got lots of great ideas from my uncle on landscaping the backyard...).
The following weekend we had a housewarming party now that we are almost completely settled into the new house. We still have some painting to do, but that's lower on the priority list. Mark and my father painted some accent walls downstairs which turned out great. They also transformed the nursery from a bland, white room into a great nursery. Here are some of the pics of the nursery... Just need to add the finishing touches with the bedding, artwork and curtains.
I think he did a great job, and I think I did a great job finding the curtain rod with the airplanes :-)
For an update on baby :-) Everything is going smoothly so far for which we are very thankful for. An uneventful pregnancy is a great pregnancy. The docs thought that I might have developed gestational diabetes, but thankfully they were wrong. Apparently I have "very impressive" sugar counts which means I can keep eating all the fruit I want, which is one of the main reasons we moved back to Cali... Other than that, we have been going to our birthing classes and getting ready for the little guy. Here are a couple of pics from the latest ultrasound and the "belly" pics. The first ultrasound pic is him saying hello to everyone (or get away from me, your choice...). Hope you enjoy and we'll post more soon...

ReplyDeleteWe wish it was a littile light, you just can't see what is behind the closet and in the dresser. We still need more onsies, sleepers, etc since he will go through so many of them, but thanks to friends and family we already have quite a bit...
ReplyDeleteCute nursery! Love the airplane curtain rod. You also make an adorable prego lady! Your smile reminds me so much of your mom! And that's good cuz she's a cute lady! Take care and enjoy the fun preparations.
